THE SECOND COLLECTION this week is for the On-going Formation of Priests.

 


S PAY GLOBAL / SARAWAK PAY QR CODE STICKERS on the church pews are made available for the convenience of our parishioners and also to facilitate weekend Mass collections. However, these stickers quite often need to be replaced because they were found partially torn or defaced. We appeal to parents not to let your young children play, tear or draw on these stickers.

GENERAL REMINDER

Parishioners are reminded to show reverence to the Lord and consideration for others as follows. We seek your kind cooperation and understanding so that we can all worship comfortably as a Church:

 

-Please arrive early and be seated at least 10 minutes before Mass begins to avoid causing unnecessary interruption or distraction.

 

-The sacredness of the Eucharistic celebration urges all participants to dress appropriately when entering the Church for Holy Mass andmanifest the importance of what we are doing as a worshipping community.

 

-Wearing of face masks in Church is no longer mandatory but highly encouraged, especially in crowded and closed environment.

 

-Those sick with flu-like symptoms (e.g. fever, cough, runny nose, etc.) are to exercise prudence and refrain from joining the congregation in Church.

 

 

COLLECTION OF CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR RURAL CHILDREN begins this weekend, 30 November until 11 December 2024. Kindly adhere to the following guidelines to help facilitate the distribution of your gifts:

(i)   Kindly contribute NEW GIFTS ONLY (one that you would give to your own child).

(ii)  Please DO NOT send in any USED toys, clothing, or any fragile or breakable items.

(iii) Please DO NOT WRAP YOUR GIFTS this year but instead provide sufficient Christmas wrapping papers for the gifts you contribute.

(iv) Kindly LABEL your gifts accordingly: BOY ;  GIRL or BOY / GIRL and also indicate the AGE RANGE (e.g. Boy, 8 - 12 years).

(v) Three separate boxes labeled “BOYS”; “GIRLS”; & “BOYS / GIRLS” will be placed at the sanctuary area for parishioners to deposit your gifts accordingly.

(vi) CLOSING DATE to submit your gifts is by Wednesday, 11 December 2024. This is to ensure that your gifts reach the rural parishes in time for their Children’s Christmas Party at the kampung level.

SEMINAR ON “CHRISTIANITY AND CORRUPTION” will be organised by the Catholic Social Teaching Ministry of Blessed Sacrament Church to explore the Christian’s view of corruption through biblical foundation and the role of the Church in combating corruption. The guest speaker, Rev. Fr. Dr. Clarence Devadass is the co-author of the Transparency International Malaysia book on “The Sin of Corruption: A Religious Perspective”. The seminar will be held on Saturday, 7 December 2024, 8:30 am to 12:00 noon at the Blessed Sacrament Church Hall, BDC. KUCHING CHRISTMAS PARADE 2024 will be organised by the Methodist Church SCAC on Saturday, 7 December 2024, 6:00 pm at MBKS Jubilee Ground. All lay group members and parishioners of the Cathedral Parish are most encouraged to participate actively by gathering along Jalan Padungan (from Asia Clinic all the way to just before Sheraton Hotel - 230 metres) between 7 pm - 9 pm. Let us collectively proclaim our Christian faith in public on the streets of Kuching city.
